Palms Print

Palms is a fine art print made from an original painting. The painting was inspired by a photograph I took on the beach in the Dominican Republic that I later developed and triple exposed at my darkroom job back in England. It created a hazy, dreamlike effect with the palm trees swaying and moving across each other. It was dawn at the time and the rising sun added a gorgeous pink to the emerging blue of the sky whilst the morning light filtered through the branches of the trees. There had been a major storm the night before and the calm of the shot contrasted with the drama of the previous night. Then in 2000, I used that shot to design the cover of 'EARTH - Volume 4' at Good Looking Records. It suited the downbeat chilled vibes of that album. I always wanted to paint that image and 26 years later, I did it. The original sold quickly but now there are just 100 limited edition prints available of PALMS exclusively here at my online store. 

Strictly limited to an edition of 100, each print measures 60 × 60 cm overall, including a 2.54 cm (1 inch) white border. They are printed on heavyweight, archival-grade fine art cotton rag which has a luxurious deep, rich and velvety feel. The finish is soft matt. Every print is individually titled, signed and numbered by the artist. They come with a certificate of authenticity and are sent in individually decorated postal tubes. Sold unframed.
